A FORMER SENIOR INTELLIGENCE OFFICER WITH CANADA’S SPY AGENCY, W.M. (WALT) KROBOTH HAS TWO TV SERIES CONSULTING CREDITS AND ONE OF HIS MOVIE SCRIPTS WAS OPTIONED BY A LEADING PRODUCTION COMPANY. HE IS CURRENTLY WORKING ON TV AND MOVIE PROJECTS IN VARIOUS STAGES OF DEVELOPMENT.
In a 25-year Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) career, Kroboth worked on counter-terrorism, counter-intelligence and foreign intelligence operations.
Tools and techniques of the trade included but were not limited to:
Recruiting and handling human sources
Utilizing federal court-authorized technical intercepts
Deploying physical surveillance teams
Cover operations
Clearing Dead Drop sites (aka Dead Letter Boxes)
Setting up and utilizing safehouses for source meets
Joint operations with other intelligence services, domestic and foreign
After retiring as Chief Toronto District Operations, Kroboth moved to the private sector where his focus was business intelligence collection and internal investigations for multinational corporations, including two years as the Deloitte Forensic Vice President Intelligence. His focus moving forward is the entertainment sector.
Prior to joining CSIS, Kroboth worked as a reporter for The Globe & Mail and as a communications consultant for Hill & Knowlton. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts (BAA) in Journalism from Ryerson University. He is also a graduate of the Sir William Stephenson Academy (then located at Canadian Forces Base Borden), the primary tradecraft training ground for new intelligence officers.
In recent years, Kroboth began turning his focus to the entertainment sector. One of his movie scripts was optioned by Whizbang Films and he has worked on various projects with Seven24 Films, Shaftesbury, Two East Productions, and No Equal Entertainment.
This experience paved the path for Kroboth to become involved in other projects.

A young soldier dealing with PTSD and drug addiction is blackmailed by a CIA Officer into becoming an informant to expose the Underground Railroad to Canada and provide information on peace activists, including the daughter of a USA Senator who fled to Canada after an act of protest went horribly wrong. Pure is based on the real-life story of North American Mennonites who worked with some of the most vicious Mexican drug cartels to smuggle cocaine and marijuana from Mexico into the USA and Canada. The story focuses on a fictional pastor who tries to stop the community from falling even deeper into a world of criminality. In over his head, the pastor’s actions result in swift and brutal retribution from the “Mennonite Mob.” Events lead the pastor to become a police informant, resulting in even more tragedy for him and his family as they are drawn even deeper into the illicit world of drug cartels.
